Week of April 27th
This week, we will continue looking at INTERNET SAFETY.
The internet is a wonderful place that allows people to do many things. People can find information, connect with family and friends, play games, shop, and the list goes on. There is a lot of great information online, BUT there is also information that is NOT OKAY because it isn’t appropriate.
Your task this week:
1. Brainstorm and think of what types of information online might not be okay to see or read.
For example, there is information that isn’t true, that is hurtful towards others, that is scary and that is not okay for children. Share your thoughts to a parent or guardian.
2. On a sheet of paper, create a list on how you can be safe while being online. List as many!
3. Watch a Cyber-Five a short animation which introduces children to 5 helpful rules to be safer on the internet. Join Hippo and Hedgehog as they introduce and review the five rules. There is a multiple choice quiz at the end of the animation for assessment. https://www.abcya.com/games/cyber_five_internet_safety
4. From your lists, Choose only 1 that would help you stay safe online.
5.Then use pictures and words. Give details as to why you chose this safety tip.
6. Share your ideas!
Keyboarding Game this week:
The exercises gradually build up from using a few keys until you have total keyboard mastery.
